Provincial Platform β Terms of Service

1. Scope
These Terms apply to all provincial FamilyNet platforms, including bc.familynet.ca, and govern your use of FamilyNet services provided through those platforms.
2. Eligibility
Access requires a valid School ID or Organization ID issued by a participating school or organization.
FamilyNet may deny, suspend, or terminate access where identifiers are invalid, misused, expired, or revoked.
3. Account Responsibility
Members are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their login credentials and for all activity occurring under their account.
Accounts are intended for individual use and may not be shared.
Impersonation, unauthorized access, or attempts to bypass platform safeguards are prohibited.
4. Acceptable Use
Members may not:
- Harass, threaten, intimidate, or abuse other members.
- Post unlawful, harmful, defamatory, or offensive material.
- Misuse School IDs, Organization IDs, or FamilyNet services.
- Attempt to interfere with the security, operation, or availability of the platform.
- Use the platform for unsolicited commercial activity, advertising, or spam unless expressly authorized by FamilyNet.
5. Community Standards
FamilyNet is designed to provide a safe, respectful, and family-friendly environment.
Members are expected to interact respectfully and comply with any community standards or guidelines published by FamilyNet.
6. Moderation
FamilyNet may investigate reported activity and may remove content, limit features, suspend accounts, or terminate access where necessary to protect members, participating organizations, or the integrity of the platform.
7. Availability
FamilyNet strives to provide reliable service but does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
Maintenance, upgrades, technical issues, or circumstances beyond our control may temporarily affect service availability.
8. No Advertising
FamilyNet does not permit third-party advertising, unsolicited promotions, or commercial solicitation unless expressly authorized.
9. Changes to the Service
FamilyNet may modify, improve, suspend, or discontinue features of the platform as the service evolves.
10. Limitation of Liability
The platform is provided βas isβ and βas available.β
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, FamilyNet and the Safe Social Networking Society are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of the platform.
11. Changes to These Terms
These Terms may be updated periodically.
The current version will always be published on the applicable FamilyNet provincial platform.
Continued use of the platform after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Canada and the laws of the province or territory in which the applicable FamilyNet provincial platform operates.
